INAUGURAL SUPER LATE MODEL SERIES SCHEDULE REVEALED!

Six races amongst three tracks highlights inaugural season.

November 30th, 2022 – Drivers and race fans alike on Canada’s East Coast are buzzing with anticipation for a new era of Late Model racing in their region. The Super Late Model Series will debut in 2023, and today the schedule of events is being unveiled for the inaugural season.

Since being announced earlier in the Fall, an overwhelming response has followed from teams and fans with excitement brewing. That excitement and anticipation will only be raised with the schedule - which consists of a six pack of races being contested on either side of the iconic Confederation Bridge between the three host tracks – with a pair of races being hosted on Prince Edward Island and the balance being contested in New Brunswick. Each race will be 150 laps in length, paying a cool $4000 to the winner.

The series will kick off on Saturday May 13th at Geary, New Brunswick’s Speedway 660. Serving as the historic debut and the season opener, the anticipation will be high for round one. The 1/3-mile track in the province’s capital region will also contest the penultimate race, round five, on Saturday August 19th.

Round two sees drivers head to River Glade, New Brunswick’s Petty International Raceway on Saturday June 3rd for a 150-lap race. Nearly four months later, the stars of the Super Late Model Series will return to the 1/4-mile-high banked oval at Petty for the sixth and final round on Saturday September 30th, where the first ever SLMS champion will be crowned.

The middle portion of the inaugural Super Late Model Series will be held at the 1/4-mile Oyster Bed Speedway in Oyster Bed Bridge, Prince Edward Island. Back-to-back events for rounds three and four will be held on Saturday June 17th, with the venue playing host again on Saturday August 19th. This pair of shows are sure to be crucial in the hunt for the championship.

In addition to the release of the schedule, the Super Late Model Series promotion team has launched several new channels for fans to follow. The series can be found on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at @SLMSeries. A new website has been built, and fans can find the new online home for the SLMS at SLMS.ca. More news and information will be added to the website as available in the coming weeks.
