Enjoy a Full Weekend in NB's Capital Region!

There’s plenty of excitement for race fans this weekend - but that excitement doesn’t have to be limited to just the on-track action! Saturday August 19th marks round five of the 2023 Super Late Model Series, with the ReCar 150 presented by Wonder Auto & Tire at Speedway 660.

Located in the province of New Brunswick’s capital region, there is plenty to do within a close drive of Speedway 660. The 1/3-mile oval located in Geary, New Brunswick is just a 10-minute drive from the town of Oromocto, and just 20 minutes from the capital city of Fredericton, New Brunswick.

The ReCar 150 presented by Wonder Auto & Tire fires off at 6pm on Saturday August 19th with qualifying heat races for the Super Late Model Series. Fans will enjoy stock car racing action from five total classes, as the Speedway 660 Sportsman, Street Stock, and Sharp Shooter (4 Cylinder) classes will compete for championship points, all being joined by round seven for the Atlantic Modified Tour!

We chatted with local drivers and Speedway 660 fans and staff and came up with a list of fun for everyone while in the Fredericton region.

Fredericton Walking Trails - The city of Fredericton boasts more than 115 km of multi-use trails. From the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge, to trails through the heart of the city and through various woodlands, get active and explore the city via walking or biking.

Shopping in Uptown Fredericton - When entering the city of Fredericton coming from Speedway 660, you’ll come upon the Uptown district which features may shopping attractions. From the capital city’s largest mall - the Regent Mall - to Uptown Centre, the Corbett Center, and many other destinations in between, there are plenty of stores to check out!

Oromocto Gateway - If you’re looking for a quick place to grab a bite to eat, there are many options right of the Trans Canada Highway in Oromocto just minutes from the track. Plenty of fast-food options and a grocery store are available at exit 303 of Route 2.

Fredericton’s Strong Local Brewery Scene

Fredericton has an impressive collection of local breweries. Located off the cities walking trails along the waterfront, Picaroon’s is a Fredericton staple, and it anchors a strong craft brewery scene in the city. Hotels in Fredericton and Oromocto - Oromocto being the closest population centre to Speedway 660 has a Days Inn hotel just off the Trans Canada Highway. A few more minutes down the road, the Travelodge is located adjacent to the Lincoln Irving Big Stop. Heading into the City of Fredericton, many accommodations are available.
