SUPER SIX Super Late Model Series Storylines

The Championship Battle Continues

It’s the widest points lead of the season, but it’s still not by much.

Every race throughout the 2025 Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series season has featured a change in the points lead. Ryan Messer (#1) led the points after rounds one and three, while Dylan Gosbee (#16) sat atop the board after round two. Now, Tanton Wooldridge (#01) leads the way for the first time in his young career.

With four top five finishes - including three consecutive podium finishes - Wooldridge enters the Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems 150 with a thirteen (13) point lead over fellow PEI native and inaugural champion Dylan Gosbee. It’s just eighteen (18) points to most recent Speedway 660 winner Lonnie Sommerville (#23), while Ryan Messer now sits twenty-eight (28) markers back.

With two races left, Wooldridge has used his consistency to seize the lead but it’s far from safe. Let’s not forget the near disaster for the 01 Motorsports team with a flat tire in the early laps of the ReCar 200 at Speedway 660 - only to be saved by a timely caution.

As a young driver - the youngest on the series at nineteen (19) years of age - Wooldridge sees a heavy veteran presence in his mirror, and those veterans are sure to pour the pressure on this weekend.

And while the PEI contingent will battle it out up front, Lonnie Sommerville is certainly sitting in pristine position to capitalize. Having won the ReCar 200 at Speedway 660 in July, another victory this weekend could gain him the ground he needs to be able to strike in the Petty finale. His new P1 chassis has been stout, and he looks to back-up his ReCar 200 win with a big day.

Messer Looking to Bounce Back

Ryan Messer (#1) is coming back home fired up.

Messer entered the Island Construction 200 atop the standings, and ran as high as second throughout round four at Oyster Bed Speedway. However, an incident with just over fifty laps to go relegated Messer to the pits and a DNF, and dropped him to fourth in the standings.

Needless to say, losing the points lead in such a manner has this team fired up. With a focus on winning races and hoping points will sort themselves out, Messer returns to his home track of Speedway 660 where he parked in victory lane many times throughout his career.

Always a favorite to win, Messer will have the fans showing up to cheer him on as he aims to bounce back.

Dave O’Blenis Has Not Forgotten the ReCar 200

While it was Lonnie Sommerville who drove into victory lane, it was Dave O’Blenis (#48) controlling the ReCar 200 at Speedway 660 on a late race restart a month ago. But a miscue spinning his tires on that restart cost O’Blenis not only the lead, but a podium position.

O’Blenis has been chasing a win on the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series for years. The later start time is bound to prove beneficial for O’Blenis - his #48 has notoriously shined in the cooler temperatures under the lights, such as when he took a dramatic Pro Stock 250 win in 2023.

Is this Dave’s time to shine?

Devin Snell Back on Track

Devin Snell (#10) will return to the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series once again! Snell has impressed in every showing throughout his part-time efforts in recent years - but often has been hit by tough luck. In June’s LV Auto Parts and Repair 150 at Petty International Raceway, Snell had good speed until a terminal parts failure cut his race short.

Snell has multiple podium finishes at Speedway 660 - including a runner-up in the Pro Stock 250, and will be chasing his first Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series win in the Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems Ltd. 150.

SpeedWeekend Pro Stock 250 Tune-Up

Just a few weeks on the horizon after the Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems Ltd. 150 will be the 25th running of the Pro Stock 250 as part of SpeedWeekend - making this weekend a perfect tune-up for the big race.

Several drivers have chased the elusive 250 win and come up short over the years, and are primed to take advantage of this week's race to show this is their year. Greg Fahey (#20) is top of that list after forfeiting the lead in the final 25 laps of the 250 one year ago. He has been so close many times, and is anxiously awaiting his triumph.

Kevin Moore (#88) is a longtime veteran who has chased his own 250 win as well. A multi-time top 5 finisher in the big race, Moore has been performing well all summer at Speedway 660 as he also chases a Line-X Pro Stock division title. He’ll be one to watch.

Former track champions such as Chris Duncan (#97) and Ian Rasmussen (#81) will also be among the contingent looking to score a big win both in the Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems Ltd. 150 and on SpeedWeekend.

Two Years And Counting for PEI Drivers Between Wins

Consistency has to pay off eventually, right?

Prince Edward Island drivers Tanton Wooldridge (#01) and Dylan Gosbee (#16) hold the top two spots in point standings - but despite PEI sitting high and mighty atop the points, the province is in the midst of a two-year winless drought.

Gosbee is joined by Robbie MacEwen (#40) having earned a podium finish so far in 2025, while points leader Wooldridge is riding a streak of three consecutive podium finishes with his points lead.

Being so close, it’s only going to be a matter of time before a checkered flag returns to Prince Edward Island. Wooldridge and Gosbee will be joined by Brodie Lewis (#22), Brandon Albert (#37) and Kent Vincent (#8) representing the island in the Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems Ltd. 150 Saturday.
