(June 11th, 2025) - It was nearly ten months between races from the 2024 ReCar 150 to the 2025 LV Auto Parts & Repair 150 for the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series - but the gap will be much shorter and only six (6) days between rounds one and two on the 2025 season. With a quick turnaround of two races within six days, the cars and stars of the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series are prepping to head across the Confederation Bridge to the red dirt and Prince Edward Island’s only paved asphalt oval - Oyster Bed Speedway - for the Universal Truck and Trailer 150.
After a fast-paced and aggressive race to kick off the season, Oyster Bed Speedway promises to deliver another epic Saturday showdown on Father’s Day weekend. Nineteen (19) entries are anticipated for the Universal Truck and Trailer 150 - evenly split between PEI and mainland drivers, setting up another classic edition of the battle of the bridge. After being shut out of victory lane one year ago, PEI’s best are hungry to reclaim home turf, while also looking to gain an edge in the season-long championship points!

SUPER SIX Super Late Model Series Storylines
MacKinnon and MacEwen Back In Familiar Rides
It was a match made in heaven that would turn out to be very short lived - but for good reason.
After teaming up for a joint effort for the LV Auto Parts & Repair 150 at Petty International Raceway, Robbie MacEwen (#40) and Darren MacKinnon (#18) will be back in their own rides this week for the Universal Truck and Trailer 150 to the delight of fans.
MacEwen got behind the wheel of MacKinnon’s Shaw’s Towing #18 ride and piloted it to an eleventh (11th) place finish in the opener after a heat race mishap - but the two drivers will be back in their own iconic cars when the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series rolls into their home track of Oyster Bed Speedway.
Both MacKinnon (#18) and MacEwen (#40) have multiple podium finishes at Oyster Bed Speedway with the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series, but neither has gone to victory lane, at least yet. Will Saturday be the day in the Universal Truck and Trailer 150?
Tanton Wooldridge Puts His Name In The Spotlight
Tanton Wooldridge (#01) has long been tabbed as one of Prince Edward Island’s top racing prospects. On Sunday, he showed why with a stellar run in the LV Auto Parts & Repair 150.
Wooldridge ran in the top three for much of the race, but would fall off the podium in the race’s late stages. Nevertheless, he fended off some hard-charging competitors to post a career-best fourth (4th) place result.
This week, Wooldridge returns to his home track, and his results at Petty have put his name in the conversation as a favorite to not only win the Universal Truck and Trailer 150, but also be a championship contender in 2025. Wooldridge has consistently run in the top ten at Oyster Bed Speedway, but luck has often marred his results in past races. However, he broke through with a top ten last August, and is now set to try and improve upon that after posting another career best finish in the season opener.
Braden Langille Bringing Speed and Momentum
One of the biggest storylines to come out of the LV Auto Parts & Repair 150 was Braden Langille (#26). Langille made his debut on the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series on Sunday a memorable one, earning the runner-up position on the starting grid thanks to the passing points formula, followed up by leading 41 laps en route to a podium finish.
Langille only returned to the driver’s seat for the first time in years in 2025. A former Legends champion who ran full-time on the Maritime Pro Stock Tour in 2018, the Nova Scotia driver had taken a few years’ absence, but did not miss a beat as he returned to the driver’s seat.
During that full-time Pro Stock Tour season in 2018, one of Langille’s best runs came at Oyster Bed Speedway, leading many laps and finishing in the top ten. With momentum, confidence, and a top-three points position, keep your eyes on this driver during the Universal Truck and Trailer 150!
Strong Local Prince Edward Island Contingent
A total of ten (10) Prince Edward Island drivers are on the entry list for the Universal Truck and Trailer 150, including one driver making his Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series debut.
In addition to the aforementioned MacKinnon, MacEwen, and Wooldridge, inaugural Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series champion Dylan Gosbee (#16) enters the race as the first Universal Truck and Trailer 150 winner from two years ago. On Sunday, Gosbee drove his new #16 NAVCANADA Fury chassis to a seventh (7th) place finish to start the season. Back on home slate this weekend, where he placed his only top fives all season in 2024, can he build upon a strong performance at Petty that also included a heat race win?
Four-time Oyster Bed Speedway champion Kent Vincent (#8) arrives at the place he calls home seeking a better result after finishing thirteenth (13th) in the LV Auto Parts & Repair 150. With a best finish of his car number - eighth (8th) - on home soil in 2024, is the third time the charm in his third Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series start at Oyster Bed Speedway?
Fellow veteran and former track champion Chris Hughes (#32) will make his first Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series start since last year’s Universal Truck and Trailer 150. Fresh off a ninth (9th) place run at Scotia Speedworld two weekends ago, the driver of the #32 East Coast International Buick has said he should’ve had a stronger performance, and what better place to achieve redemption than within familiar territory.
Embarking on his first start in 2025 at Oyster Bed Speedway will be Brodie Lewis (#22), who was away last weekend. Coming off a career-best eleventh (11th) place finish at the 2024 season finale at Speedway 660, Lewis has a massive opportunity to start year three on a high note and capture his first top-10 finish in major regional touring competition.
A pair of Islanders will share different forms of “first-time” experiences. Rookie Brandon Albert (#37) - a former Oyster Bed Speedway Street Stock champion - began his first Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series campaign with a robust fifteenth (15th) place result as the LV Auto Parts & Repair 150 lucky dog. Now headed back home for his second start, he’s ready to carry forward recent momentum and shine in the former Kenny Snow / Robbie MacLean car.
Meanwhile, Matt Palmer (#28) is the new wheelman of the #28 Trevor Lambe Racing machine, which sports a slick new look with shades of Davey Allison. A two-time Oyster Bed Speedway Late Model champion, Palmer’s first major regional touring series start comes this Saturday in the Universal Truck and Trailer 150.
Rounding out the PEI crop is Mark LeClair (#51), planning his first Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series start since the 2023 edition of this weekend’s race, where he finished sixteenth (16th). In his previous Super Late Model start at Oyster Bed Speedway, LeClair fought his way to a sixth (6th) place finish in Maritime Pro Stock Tour action in 2024.
Messer Leading the Championship Charge After One Round
It’s Big Orange out of Harvey carrying the championship torch out of New Brunswick and to Prince Edward Island after round one.
Ryan Messer (#1) got the monkey off his back at Petty International Raceway, finally earning himself a trophy at a track that has never gone in his favour in recent years, even outside of Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series competition. He became the third driver in series history to have finished on the podium at all three tracks on the series, following Ashton Tucker and Cory Hall.
After placing high on the practice charts the weekend prior, Messer wheeled his new CRF chassis to a heat race victory and a runner-up finish, saving his equipment for the end and challenging Ashton Tucker on a late-race restart.
With a one (1) point lead over Tucker heading into the Universal Truck and Trailer 150, Messer hopes to stay ahead of everybody else and roll the momentum to Oyster Bed Speedway, where he once finished on the podium in just his second start at the track in 2023, but then only managed a best finish of eighth (8th) there in 2024. Is he bound to become the next mainland invader?
Cory Hall Looking To Continue Oyster Bed Dominance
Last year, Oyster Bed Speedway saw a Cory Hall (#83) sweep. After leading all 150 laps of the Universal Truck and Trailer 150, Hall backed it up with a clutch win in the Chapman Bros. 150 presented by Hynes Paving in August. These two wins were crucial in Hall’s bid for the championship, which ultimately came up short in the tiebreaker.
Not running for points in 2025, Hall is chasing checkered flags, and he wants to grab another one this weekend. Already a winner at Scotia Speedworld and New Smyrna Speedway in 2025, Oyster Bed Speedway is one of Hall’s favorite tracks, and he looks to make it a three-peat and topple the local island contingent who are surely going to be hungry to defend home turf.
